In his clinical and research work, Jan Polák focuses primarily on sleep-related breathing disorders (obstructive sleep apnea) in relation to metabolic and cardiovascular diseases (diabetes, gestational diabetes, obesity). He has served as the principal investigator on numerous domestic and international grant projects focused on sleep disorders. He teaches and leads a research group at the Third Faculty of Medicine at Charles University. He regularly presents at national and international conferences.

She specializes in neuropsychiatric issues, diagnostics of neurological and seizure disorders, and sleep medicine. Due to the nature of her professional focus, she is interested in the possibilities of preventing civilization and neurodegenerative diseases.

He deals with the problems of sleep disorders, their diagnosis and treatment. She also works as a general physician for adults. She regularly deepens her knowledge and participates in educational events and congresses run by the Czech Society for Sleep Research and Sleep Medicine.
